The short explanation for why I’ve launched a Substack is I’m bored of spending each day waiting for dinner. I’m hoping this will be a welcome distraction.
The slightly longer explanation is that there’s a need for political commentary and analysis that cuts through the braindead, ideologically driven rubbish we’re constantly having shoved down our throats. I can provide that imo (and my opinion is always the correct one, as you will learn).
This is where I’ll post longer-form content that (hopefully) won’t fall into the traps of tribalism and hysteria that characterise social media debate. If you want shorter, punchier (/more demented) quick takes, follow me on twitter (X) and Instagram.
About me
I’m a lawyer, with a background in political analysis. I set up and am the host of the E2 Review Podcast, a popular political show (you can check that out here). I’ve previously worked as an associate fellow at a British think tank, where I specialised in socio-cultural and political trends.
Back in the day, I read social and political sciences at Cambridge University. It was during this period that I truly came to appreciate how cult-like and low-level so much of what passes as Very Serious Progressive Thought actually is. I graduated with a first class degree, taking modules covering topics such as ‘critical theory’, ‘power structures in education’, ‘radical politics’… in other words, I can legitimately claim to have mastered the dogma that has since come to dominate our cultural life in the form of ‘Wokeness’. I became fluent in its idiocies and half-truths, so I’m pretty well placed to push back against them.
I’m not religious, but I am a Jew (yeah, yeah, ‘that doesn’t make sense!’ - it does - I’ll write a blog on it. But if you’re impatient, just ask almost any Jew what I mean). I’m also a wildly unappreciated sporting and musical genius (no debate), and live in London with my wife and beautiful baby daughter.
Photo of the author. Observe my raised eyebrow, the pen clutched in my hand, the open notepad - proof, if proof were needed, of my status as a leading thinker.
What to expect
I’ll be putting out articles as and when I can. No schedule as yet.
More posts coming soon. Obviously.
I was drawn to your stack from your name.
Max Klinger from the show M.A.S.H. is one of my favorite childhood memories.
I’ve subscribed for the content. Keep up the great work.
